The Empathy Toy from Twenty One Toys is a collaborative puzzle that can only be solved when the players clearly understand each other. A 90-minute Empathy Toy workshop provides a practical and hands-on introduction to techniques for leveraging empathy as a team. Through two rounds of gameplay with the Empathy Toy, each paired with expertly facilitated debrief discussions, participants will gain insight into the different communication, collaboration and problem-solving approaches that exist within their team. After the workshop participants will receive a series of action-oriented resources to help as they apply the insights they had about each other and themselves.

Speaker’s Bio:

Ryan Burwell

As Director of Training and Facilitation at Twenty OneToys, Ryan Burwell develops workshops and training opportunities for innovators of all ages. He leads an incredible facilitation team in the delivery of play-based workshops to corporate teams, not-for-profits, K-12 educators, and post-secondary institutions. Delivered across the globe, these highly experiential and laughter-filled workshops provide tangible techniques for practicing more empathic communication, collaboration and problem-solving.

Ryan and his dynamic colleagues at Twenty One Toys are building a global community of toy facilitators. Unified by the desire to make playfulness, empathy and creativity the new normal in boardrooms and classrooms, they also train independent facilitators and internal facilitation teams in the tools and techniques developed at Twenty One Toys.

Ryan loves his work because of the people he gets to play and learn with – and he’s excited to meet you!
